I can’t believe this sweet girl is already one! A year ago, I met her and photographed her Dover MA newborn portraits. It’s always so special to to watch the babies I’ve photographed become toddlers – and to be asked to document their milestones is super meaningful. To celebrate this milestone birthday, her parents planned a first birthday cake smash in Dover MA. It was the perfect session for this sweetheart – full of lots of pink and gold details. This setup reminds me of the classic lullaby “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” actually!
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Inspired First Birthday Cake Smash
The day of the birthday girls cake smash was so much fun! The whole vibe for this session was super relaxed. We did this cake smash at their home on a beautiful sunny day. Everything was calm and just perfect for her! With mom and her nanny around, we got some great smiles out of her. She looked adorable in her pink tutu and flower headband – plus the white shirt with gold lettering. Such an elegant color palette for this little princess! She had fun exploring the set that we created for her with lots of fairy lights, lanterns, stars, and fluff everywhere.
While the session was really fun, this little girl gave us a bit of a scare! After having some of the cake, she got a rash and it turns out she’s allergic to eggs! This is one of the reasons I don’t provide cakes for my smashes – I always want to be sure babies are safe, so parents provide the cake. Luckily, everything turned out just fine in the end and we still captured some beautiful portraits of her!
