It’s so hard to believe that October is already halfway over! Where is the fall going?! I had a such a great time with this beautiful family for their fall family portrait session with me here in Boston. Our session was at the end of September – but it was still pretty warm out. Although it was a bit hot in their fall inspired outfits, this family was still laughing and smiling with me! Like all of my family sessions, I let the children lead the way. This little 2 year old was all about making me work for a smile!! And I definitely got some exercise chasing her around. It was all worth it though! I just LOVE the way their family photos came out!
One of the things I loved most about this family’s fall portraits is the color scheme that they chose for their outfits. Although Mom was a bit warm in a wool dress, her burgundy outfit popped against the fall colors outside. With Dad in blue and her daughter in a fun pink and brown outfit, their coordinated outfits really stood out. They looked great and super cozy… even if it was a bit warm outside!!
Why do family photos matter?
This time of year is super busy for photographers everywhere! Fall sessions are always in high demand because they’re right before the holidays. It’s important year round to update our family’s photos, but many families use their fall sessions on holiday cards for the upcoming season. What does that mean for you? Book early! I’m not joking when I say our calendars are full. But I wouldn’t have it any other way! I am so excited for all of the families I get to photograph this year and all of the warm, glowing light that comes with the fall. Family photos are such a great way to document how your family changes year to year… maybe you’ve added a new member, or a furry family friend. Maybe your kids are growing faster than the weeds in your garden. Either way, take the time to document your family’s story!
