Little Adults – [Boston Family Photographer]

The days are long, but the years are short. Before you know it, they’re little adults with their own personalities, thoughts and ideas. This couldn’t be truer than the years right before they become teenagers. As a Boston Family Photographer, I enjoy photographing families and telling the story of their unique bond. Photographing candid moments between brother and sister, mother and father, parents and children, reminds one what the core of the family is: Love. And this family of four exemplified this.

Each member showed different sides of their personality, from playful to serious, curious to insightful. Although the boy was on the shy side, his sister’s protective nature over him helped him to come out of his shell and he showed his adventurous side. The father also took a few shots to get comfortable in front of the camera, but once he did, he became a natural! You could really sense that he had a whimsical side to him that would bring a smile to anyone’s face, even during tense moments! The mother, like many mothers, was the glue of the family. She was very in tuned to what her family needed in order to feel comfortable. You could see her whisper things to the children, that made them light up. It was almost as if she knew what words to say in order to make her family feel relaxed. A few times, the mother and father snuck a glance that conveyed that this family was truly built on a foundation of love and respect. These are the moments I love to catch on camera: where the personality of the subject speaks to you.

Thank you for choosing me to be your family photographer. It’s hard to call it work when you enjoy what you do and feel inspired at the end of the day. And you reaffirmed this for me.
