Being a Boston family photographer means that sometimes I have to be creative with my families. We live in a beautiful and, often, very busy city. That’s a great thing: we always have such incredible locations to work with. But, occasionally, the busy city life means pivoting for portrait session locations, like this sweet family had to! We originally planned to photograph their fall family portraits at Boston Public Garden – we had a sunny and warm Saturday afternoon, too! But, because of the gorgeous weather, the park was packed. Thankfully, these four were willing to pivot with me and we walked over to Beacon Hill for their family portraits instead. Their fall Beacon Hill family portraits turned out absolutely gorgeous, so I think it all worked out in the end!
Beacon Hill Family Portraits in the Fall
Beacon Hill was full of so many beautiful fall colors – from the orange and yellow tree leaves to the pumpkins outside shops. We found lots of gorgeous storefronts to photograph this beautiful family in front of. Sessions always start a bit slow and can be awkward, especially if you’re not used to being photographed. That’s why I always come prepared with lots of silly jokes and prompts to help everyone in your family feel relaxed and at ease. After we start laughing together, the session always becomes a lot more fun.
These young parents are enjoying this fall season with their gorgeous little baby and their sweet dog. I loved being able to document such a special season for them! Not to mention, their little one and the pup were both amazing the entire session – which is awesome. I loved seeing them enjoy themselves on this beautiful fall day!! I hope as you scroll through this session that you’re remind of a few things: how beautiful Boston is in the fall and that sometimes pivoting (for a session or something bigger!) can be the right move in the end.
