It was so good seeing Matthew and his family again as we celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at the Temple Beth Avodah! I actually photographed their oldest son’s Bar Mitzvah a few years ago! So, it was like a little reunion for all of us. Photographing Bar Mitzvahs is such a special part of my journey as a family photographer. It’s a beautiful and meaningful ceremony for so many young men and their families. I’m always honored when I’m asked to be a part of their celebrations.

Because of COVID, Matthew and his family had to delay his party by over a year. It was delayed several times before we were finally able to gather and celebrate Matthew! And, it was definitely a party!! Matthew’s family went all out to have a special celebration for him. They decorated the space with blue and orange decor, delicious food, and all of their guests had a great time.
Not only did they have an indoor space decorated, but their courtyard made the perfect spot for updated family photos with their guests. I think everyone was just so excited to be able to get together. Although it was a humid and rainy summer evening (moving the rest of the party indoors), everyone was in great spirits and excited to celebrate Matthew! I actually ran into a few friends while I was capturing the evening as Matthew’s family lives in a neighborhood I lived in many years ago. It was fun to catch up with a few of them!
