One of the best parts of the fall is seeing families I just adore! Capturing these sweet Larz Anderson Park family photos was a ton of fun. I met this family through the preschool that their children attend. Last year, I photographed them on their picture day! Their mom and dad loved their photos so much that we did a full family session this year in Brookline, MA!
Larz Anderson Park Family Photos
We had the most beautiful fall colors during our time at Larz Anderson Park (which I really think is just gorgeous year round!). We wound up with really super weather for our session, too, which I think helped everyone’s moods! Their son was all smiles the entire session, and while his sister (who’s only 2) was a bit harder, we still got some great shots of her and them together!! While we were scouting locations and shooting, I had the chance to talk with them and I learned their dad is from Turkey! How amazing! Although he hasn’t been able to visit often thanks to COVID-19, he talked fondly of the many trips they had taken before this year.
I’m often asked what lens I use during a family session like this one. So, I thought I’d share with you today! I used three lenses at this session! The first was the 35mm f/1.4, which is great for environmental portraits of the entire family. Then I also used he 85mm f/1.4, which I think is the best lens for close ups/portraits! And, finally, the 200mm f/2.0 was used to get this family some more candid images – I was able to back up and give them space to let moments happen naturally! I hope that helps you!
