2022 Year in Review
I’m pretty sure I say this every year… but how is it December already? I can’t believe it’s time to sit and write my 2022 year in review! This year was a wonderful (and busy!) one, thanks to my family, friends, and amazing clients. 2022 brought travels, a senior in our house, and one of the busiest falls I’ve ever had as a Boston family photographer. I love writing these posts because, amongst all the hustle and bustle, I have the chance to really stop and reflect on all of the good moments of the last year. I hope you can do the same for your own life and with your own family (even if you don’t write a year-in-review blog post about it!).
Spring in Morocco
This March, my husband and I traveled to Morocco to visit some dear old friends from college. My friend is Mexican, and she married a french guy, and we actually introduced them! ❤️ They have Iived in Marrakech for a couple of years, but they constantly travel to Toulouse (France), where they usually live. Morocco was absolutely amazing. As a photographer, I was blown away by the beautiful light, shadows, and colors everywhere. The food and textures were incredible. Honestly, I think I went a little crazy with the photos I took. But I LOVED it. The most magical place we visited was La Medina. It’s a very old town within Marrakech, and you feel like you traveled in time. It has crazy little streets where you can easily get lost.
Spring in Boston
We had a beautiful Spring here in Boston. After our trip to Morocco, I settled back into work. The spring brought several beach sessions (which I LOVE!) and lots of gorgeous newborn sessions! I also photographed several grad sessions in the city this spring, too. Capturing milestones for so many families is always such an honor, and it was a great way to get back into work stateside after our trip.
Portraits in Boston for My Niece
This summer, our niece, Josefine, from Germany, visited us! It was a lot of fun to have her around and show her Boston. Of course, since her aunt is a photographer, we had to capture some gorgeous portraits during her visit. I found a spot with the prettiest sunflowers and a vintage tractor. It was perfect! Looking at these photos, you’d never know she was 14! She looks so much older than her age. I loved having her visit – we all did!!
Summer in Boston
This summer brought more beach and newborn sessions. It was a beautiful season filled with lots of light and wonderful families. We also took a trip to Seabrook Island in South Carolina during the summer. We drove over 15 hours, split into two days. Our dog, Sascha, went with us. It was a lot of driving, but a good time! Though, I’ll admit the heat and humidity took us by surprise. Immediately after our trip, I began my fall sessions in Boston again.
CLICK PRO VOICE COMPETITION
With all of that inspiration in Morocco, I couldn’t put my camera down. In fact, two of my images were selected as winners in the CLICK Pro Voice Image Competition! One won 4th place in the Neighborhood category, and the other won an honorable mention. I am beyond words excited, humbled, and happy about this huge recognition!!! Out of 40,000 entries, two of my images did incredibly!!
Boston Senior Portraits for Chris
I can’t believe I’m writing this…. Our youngest son is a senior in high school! Between college tours and fall sessions, I was able to capture my son’s senior year portraits here in Boston! It was amusing to be “the mom” who had to organize the outfits AND then be the photographer! I think I deserve double merits for that, ha! Chris was a great sport and quite the model (but I might be biased).
Fall Portrait Season in Boston
This fall was by far the busiest season I’ve had in many years! It was so busy that I couldn’t even keep up with Instagram posts of my sessions at all. Even sitting here writing about it, the fall season isn’t quite over. I still have another newborn session this month! Despite how busy it was, the weather was amazing and it helped a lot. I only had to reschedule one session to rain. Otherwise, it was warm and a super sunny season. We were definitely lucky. The fall brought lots of repeat families back to me, and I loved catching up with them. Of course, I also loved the chance to meet all my new families, too!
Every fall, I also host Santa Mini Sessions! This year’s were fabulous! We only had one child that wasn’t a huge fan of Santa. The rest had a great time and were so excited to meet the big guy! This year, I photographed the sessions at the Norwood studio I adore. It’s so beautiful and a great natural light option!
The End of the Year…
